Its the eve of Beltane. The full moon is on this eve, summer is just around the corner. However there is a cool wind. I am a gardener, I grow vegetables amongst other things and over the many years I have done this, the one thing I have learnt is to listen to nature. The instructions on a back of a packet of seeds is just that a guide, when to plant in your local area is when the season is just right, the soil is warm enough and each new plant may need some protection as a cool wind or late frost may bite. Its the time of fertility and creation and new growth, the blossom on the trees is beautiful.
The inspiration for this mandala meditation has come from the Goddess Sophia.
With gracious thanks for the artwork and inspiration to ‘The Goddess Oracle’ by Amy Sophia Marashinsky and Hrana Janto.
Her bird is the dove, a symbol of peace. Winged ones carry the air element, the element of ideas, thoughts, inspiration, colour and light. The air element can be called upon to help us with answers to a question. Write a question on piece of paper or coloured card, tie it in a tree and wait for the answer to appear.
The mandala was created with inspiration from the medicine wheel. A symbol of life, a symbol of how we learn. Each experience gives us a life lesson, what we take from each gives us wisdom. we learn in spirals, each experience opens us up to another perspective, the key to wisdom is to be open minded, to be curious and question with childlike wonder. The outer circle is of quartz, with the directions as quartz points. the centre is a crystal called Bloodstone or Blood Jasper, a combination crystal of green chalcedony and red jasper. Its a blood cleanser, it brings cleansing, it nourishes and nurtures and gives us strength and courage. It brings energy and wisdom. Rejuvenates when feeling low. Each direction of the medicine wheel can inspire us, each direction brings different qualities to a question, a different perspective.
The mandala is about allowing some rest time at this full moon to look at something from all different perspectives, so allow yourself time to centre yourself, meditate and face each direction to find the whole answer.
